lk_rider 11-25-2005, 04:24 AM Thanks for the comment cunning !
But I need some comments on Webhostdirectory.com...
etechsupport2 11-25-2005, 09:28 AM In fact I have not advertised there so I have no idea about it, however I just suggest that before advertising you should check few things like their popularity, average views, visitor feedback/rating, ad cost and effectiveness etc to get a rough idea. :)
ThinkSupport 11-25-2005, 09:31 AM thewhir.com, hostdir.com, webhostdir.com etc are few of the popular and effective hosting directories ... that you can add to your advertisement source list ..
whatever 11-25-2005, 05:08 PM Is 'Webhostdirectory.com' even very popular? It looks like a single page with a list of webhost names.
cunning 11-25-2005, 05:25 PM How did you find WHD.
Seems like you are self-promoting
steven-v 11-25-2005, 05:32 PM Yea, never even heard about this one. Tophosts.com/TheWhir.com/HostSearch.com have GOOD proven records - other ones is has no returns (ROI) or very little.
Tested manually from 2001 until 2005

Probably just one of the many newer "directory listing" sites.
I havent heard of it either.
It should not be confused with
webhostdir.com
dwieland 11-28-2005, 02:09 AM We've not had a lot of luck advertising on directories. We get a few hits, but because we're so specialized and really have a niche market, directories don't often do our company justice, as most users are just price or package shopping.
Best marketing advice for such a cutthroat industry: think outside the box.
Good luck!

Yup advertising oh such directories get you nowhere , so as suggested think outside the box.

Mini-Host 11-29-2005, 12:07 PM Never go for the cheap ones!!
bigdeal 11-29-2005, 12:27 PM You can try thewhir.com.

I was wondering if you represent these sites or if you have actually used them before?
atchoooo 12-01-2005, 10:26 PM Advertising on directories like tophosts/webhostdir/thewhir can help your ranking in search engines but will not bring a lot of direct sales it's VERY competitive there. The Webhostdirectory.com is not known by Alexa and probably has very very little traffic.
300host 12-02-2005, 04:23 PM try here, and go google find some free hosting forum
