What do you mean by "West Indies"? There are dozens of countries and islands there, all with their own ccTLDs.

If you follow the previously-posted link to the IANA database you will find links to them all.

No, because the Afrikaans word for South starts in Z. (I think it's "Zuid", same as in Dutch)

You've got it!:)

There are plenty of others like this, such as .de, .hr and .es. On the other hand you have some countries where the ccTLD is based on the English name rather than the name in the native language - for example, the Hungarian word for "Hungary" starts in M (not sure about the spelling so I won't try!) yet the ccTld is .hu

i thogut they were using ISO codes for countries and then shortening them such as KWT became .KW not .KU

or thats the shortcode ISO codes for ccTLDs ? .za .de .es .hu etc..?

I think South Africa extension is .za but not know from where I register. Commercial name are typically .co.za. In addition, you can also get .net.za (quite uncommon) and .org.za (common for non-profit orginisations).

I am looking for South Africa and west indes domains extensions And nobody mentioned the registrars themselves: For .co.za, go to http://co.za, and for .org.za go to http://org.za.

why south is Z?

bcuz they lost sa for saudi arabia? No, because it is from the Dutch "Zuid Afrika" ;)

No, because the Afrikaans word for South starts in Z. (I think it's "Zuid", same as in Dutch) Close :) The Afrikaans is actually Suid. And that is from the Dutch Zuid.

Hungary is Magyarorszag in Hungarian ;)

You can also get free .za.org subdomains as far as I know, same organisation that provides .eu.org
