Recently we've been getting dos'ed at random times. Our current host isn't very good at helping us when it comes to dos attacks. We need to get a ded. server from a place, that will help us firewall the machine heavily. The goal here is to try to keep the machine online and visible on the internet when it's being hit, if it ever does.

When we get dos'ed, it brings the server down, traffic coming in at 2mb/second (megabytes)
Does anyone know of any places where we could get a ded. server AND have the host help us firewall the machine, and assist us on preventing, or atleast considerably slowing down the attacks when this does happen?

from my understanding, only the upstream provider could do that.
especially uunet seems to have good solutions there ...
you could also ask foonet, which i believe, are around here too. they're hosting many shellserver, who attrack many dos attacks, and they'r in business since ever, so they should have some knowledge there.

Find a collocation provider that could provide a managed firewall service for your system. Context Based Access Controls can even be utilized on some versions of IOS on the router to prevent types of DoS. Alternatively, you could install a PIX or CheckPoint Firewall in front of your server infrastructure. OpenBSD is another alternative.
