Hello,

This is what I want to do, create a hosting business that allows people to customize how many domains they get, how much disk space, bandwidth and a few other things too, so I thought I could use shopping cart and let them choose options from a dro down menu (ex. Disk Space: (there would be a drop down menu here with options like 100mb 500mb 1k mb etc.) and beside each option a price of how much it cost) However, I also want after they pay through paypal to have their custom account setup automatically through my reseller account. I thought I would likely have to create all possible account possibilities (long process, possibly 100+ different possible accounts) and then I could use some software to automatically setup their account, anyone know if this is possible or how I would go about doing it?

Derek

Best thing to do is get ModernBill

Spring for the owned license if you can, if not, get the leased.

Then setup packages with custom fields.

Check out the hsphere control panel from www.psoft.net. We have been using it for 5+ years and it is the best solution we have found to automate the entire process.

The only problem is, he is a reseller, he doesn't have a dedicated server.

Being that he's using CPanel, using HSphere would be a shot in the foot of unneeded functions.

That said, I'm curious, how exactly would H-Sphere make it easier for him to accomplish what he wants to?

It wouldnt :)

H-Sphere may offer complete automation, but certainly not for the requirement mentioned above. I dont think any hosting control panel or typical hosting billing solutions would accomodate.

From what Im interpreting.... The ONLY way to accomplish this with hsphere is to set up "essentially" free plans (or nominally priced) - with add-on prices for utilization - ala carte so to speak. Once an account is created a user can log into their control panel - add 500 mb of diskspace (and be billed accordingly), add 10 GB bandwith (with the appropriate fee being added) add a few email address, mysql db's, domains, etc - All of these resources are configurable and integrate 100% with billing...

Is this a workable solution? certainly !

Does it fit the OP's requirements? - not really :)
