I had a forum hosted in UK, we were told by the host that the forum couldn't remain on their shared servers.
I moved the forum elsewhere, and currently use 2-3gb per month.
Previous host didnt offer a control panel/stats.
I am now told by the previous host that our bandwidth was huge b4 and they plan to chase for £800 + Vat.
We never use hardly any bandwidth but still having ftp access to our log files from old I accessed them, they are absolutely massive, they are being downloaded to be analysed but it would appear either a DOS attack or someone hacked into our ftp space because we could not use the bandwidth they are talking about.
If its a DOS attack, are we liable for the bandwidth or is it the hosts problem to monitor such cases seeing as we had no control, warnings or stats.
UPDATE: It wasn't a DOS attack our log files revealed we used under 1GB transfer in the month, yet we are being told we are due £800
