Hello,

I don't remember how I found this hosting company, but I've searched webhosting talk for comments about their reseller plan, but didn't find any posts.

Recently, I've had 3 (small) companies ask me to build their sites and preferably host them as well. I don't know enough yet to select a reseller plan, but I like the features that hostcabin offers. How can I tell or find out what their support is like without signing up. I didn't see a forum listed like mchost and a few others that I've been looking at.

Also, it appears that they are not in the US, should this be a concern for me.

I've looked at rackshack.net to get an idea of what a server would cost, but the price is out of my league and I'm not sure that I can support or be responsible for keeping a server up. I also didn't see where they offer cpanel, which I happen to like a lot.

Is there a way to help determine true uptime?

Any advise on hostcabin or other reseller plans I should look into or definately avoid, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Indera

I am not familiar with Host Cabin so I can't give you any first hand feedback. But, here are some things you should do before deciding on your host:

- send them an email with some of your questions and see how long it takes to get a response. If they have a good response time then it is a good sign - but don't think that this is a guarantee that their support reponse time is good, there is going to be no way of telling that until you sign-up (unless you can speak with someone who is already a customer).

- ensure they have a 30 money-back guarentee - then if you are unhappy after you sign-up you can cancel your account and get a full refund.

- do some checking such as running a whois on their domain name http://www.netsol.com/cgi-bin/whois/whois . This will tell you who the domain name is registered to and what their location is (although, this information can be forged). Running a search here for other posts about the host is also a good idea, as is running a search on them in a search engine like Google to see if you can find any third party info on them that is not from their own web site.

Hope this is helpful - perhaps others have direct experience with Host Cabin and can help further.

I know the owner of HostCabin and as far as I can tell you, he seems to be an honest guy. Working hard to manage his many customers. I don't think you should worry about refund since he does give refund when you ask for it.

Again, I don't have direct experience with HostCabin (not a customer/affiliate), just happen to know the owner. I don't think you should worry about signing up with them.

cheers,
