I think when they say 100 million Internet hosts they're counting just about any device attached full-time to the Internet as a "host," and don't mean Web hosting companies.

I believe the number of Web hosting companies is around 200 million. :D

yeah, no kidding, that number seems a little (ok .. very) high to me :/

Yea, just go to google.com and search for "web host." I received, "Results 1 - 10 of about 2,010,000."
