anyone thinks that Google's personolized home page (http://www.google.com/ig?hl=en) is very ugly?

Well I think it is very ugly.

I just dont get it, how a very big company creates a ugly web site? I am not talking about simplicity. I like simple design. This is just ugly to me.

Do you think it is ugly?

I don't find it Ugly. Their design is very catchy and loads very fast.. If they will include lot of images then it will become slow to load...

1024x768 looks fine but anything higher it starts to look ugly

I donot fint it ugly really, they are very professional. But it's just too 'simple' for me. And they make it possible for all Internet Users to surf Google, that's the point.

loading fast is the key...although I feel they have copied the simplicity of craigslist.org

It is marketed towards everyday people, and they don't really care about the design. Plus it loads fast, so although it may be ugly to us web designers, it isn't that bad considering that web designers are not its main target.

Google runs pretty well in my opinion. So the fact that they put their efforts in functionality, means more to me than the site.

Plus I go to Google cause Yahoo gives me a headache seeing so much on one page.
