Hey ya'll just wanted to pass along some info, there is a company in southern california that lets you rent your own dedicated server for only $149/month.

I have been using them for a few months now and they are very solid.

Does anyone know any better deal than this? I can't find anything, I shopped around for a while. You can check these guys out at http://www.intertune.com

Nice to hear. What's your address? :)

Btw, 4WebSpace (http://www.4webspace.com) offers dedicated servers at $99/month.

I'm in Socal too. I don't know too much about the Cobalt Raq's, they look more like a toy to me. I dunno I guess I just like having a box.

I tried to look at http://www.intertune.com but their index seems to invoke some type of loop - just keeps reloading forever and nothing comes up for me.

P.S. I'm not sure if he was asking for your email or your website address (URL) - sometimes it's more helpful to look at a site hosted by a host than the host's own site, because what host wouldn't make their own site load perfectly (i.e. a host is selling RaQ's but their own site is on a dual 933 Linux box)

You own a dedicated server and yet can't provide a non-free e-mail address or one of your websites. Seems very dodgy.

I would not accept this recommendation, not valid

Haven't had time to throughly check out the site yet, but how long have they been around. THis seems like a very, almost to good to be ture, deal. Let us know all the details honestabe40.

They say "Approximately xx GB .." included, which reads for me like a capped line. That makes the bandwidth look a bit pricy IMHO. The $159 comes with approximately 20 GB...that isnīt too competitive either in case that it is not burstable.

Sorry I just LOVE the word either :-)

http://www.thetp.com

You can find real email addresses there.

They have burstable bandwidth if you ask for it. The approximations listed there really are for dedicated bandwidths, e.g. 128kbps, etc...

After looking at it more closely, I wouldn't go with them. They might as well include no bandwidth and make us pay for it all.

So a trace shows that www.intertune.com is part of or has a server with server4me.com which is part of aplus.net (?)
