I wrote this Thread. But I got error. The error was that the server is too busy please try again.

Anyway the Question was this:

How much Control Do We have Our Domain Names?
What if the company which host our domain name closes down suddenly.

I don't know how this domain name thing works. So guide me please.

Anyone has any knowledge on this?

It depends on where, and how, you purchased your domain name.
If you purchased it at an acredited registrar, you would have no problems retaining possession should your host become insolvent.
If you purchase through a host, and they are listed as the Registrant, you may never get your domain back. Just make certain that, if you purchase a domain name through a host, that you are the listed Registrant or Administrative Contact for the domain.

You answered partially my question that also because of my own fault for not explaining with proper words.

What I mean is this:

Right now my registrar is Tucows.com

My host registered for me but I am listed as the Registrant.

If Tucows.com suddenly closes business, I lose my domain name. Is that correct?

I do not see the logic here. If Tucows.com was to close business suddenly, there will be no host to my domain.

Then if another Domain Takes away my Domain Name, I have got no record with them, so I am sure they will not be obliged to sell to me.

In the process someone else may just snap it.

Your domain is not at risk if your Registrar should go out of business.

Ultimately your domain is the responsibility of the Registry, not your Registrar.

That said, it is also extremely unlikely that any Registrar will go out of business without first selling it's domain properties - that means you - to another Registrar. The properties are too valuable to just walk away from.

Great that the Registrar will not go out of business and will not forget to sell me before he closes business. hehehehe

Another Quesstion:

My Registrar is Listed on the ICANN website.

So if my Registrar closes Business and say worst to worst does not get to sell me to another registrar due to some reason, ICANN will start to bill me?

ICANN is the governing body for domain policy. They are not a Registry and will not bill you.

As I've said now in at least three threads - IF a Registrar were to go out of business without selling your domain to another Registrar, you would become the responsibility of the Registry, and they would either take care of you themselves if it's a Registry that is also a Registrar - or they would see that you go to another Registrar.

You would not lose your domain.

In the unlikely case that a Registrar was to go out of business, they would most likely sell all their domains to another Registrar first. This has been done more than once already - and the worst thing that happens is you get moved to a Registrar that you don't like and then you transfer away.
