To be honest I don't think I've ever had that question before. I can't think of a reason we wouldn't allow it, as long as it's legal, so yes.

zibax probably wants to host Anime television episodes which are --illegal-- but there is a lot of controversy about it so I'd say it's a grey area thing.

Yes, its a grey area, but its not 'right' to brand it entirely as illegal. Most artists do not declare international copyright (IE: most of them just do (c) <production group name> <year> <country>, and if you go check the publisher's website and their publications on the anime, they don't claim international rights there either) so as far as international copyrights goes, its very much safe to assume that most, except for the few that declares it, are legal. However, the very problematic part comes in play during licensing. Licensing is when they finally claim their international rights. The policy about this one is that once its licensed in the region, all 'bootleg copies' -- let it be made before or after the licensing -- should cease to exist. Since not all users are based in USA (IE: looking by the location of zibax, he is not bound by american licensing), they are not bound by the US licensing, and hence render some of them to not care about it -- dispite the fact that their server are in the USA, and it should not house any licensed materials. Generally speaking, anime artists, publishers, and international licensees have never launched legal law suits against anyone (even after licensed stage), it is a wise idea to get your users to include legal pages with DCMA removal contacts if they want to house alike content on their leased server.

Anyways, that's massively off topic. Aaron, are the harddrives upgradable on those units? IE: can I get a bigger plate from you with a setup fee/monthly fee? What about bandwidth, are they upgradable?

I'll be more clear on the Anime question since my Lawyer explained it and what our liabilities were.

It would be covered under the same policy we have for other content. If it's legal that's fine. If, for some reason it becomes illegal or we get a DMCA complaint, you will be asked to remove the offending content from the server.

Thank you for the explanation though. :)

The hard drives are upgradable on all the units. Send me an e-mail with the size your looking for and the server you'd want it on and I'll quote you the fee's.

Bandwidth is also upgradable on all but the very bottom 2 servers. (The celeron and P3 733)

On your AUP it says:

3. IRC websites/servers are not allowed.

Does that mean that other IRC processes such as bouncers and eggdrops would be allowed? if so do you take paypal?

Hi,

That should probably be clairified. It should probably read:

3. We do not allow IRC traffic of any kind anywhere on our network, ever.

But yes, we do take Paypal. :)
