With the price of webspace going down how are your costs divided ?

I think that marketing and support costs more than the system themselves. What is your experience ?

consider,

how much bandwidth you got
webspace on the server

server specs,

server rental costing
any leased/purchased licences of software e.g. cpanel

as long as you make ends meet, thats what counts

Support costs are going to be the highest costs, because the more you grow the more people you need. And those people will gain more experience and raises/bonus will be giving out. But at the same time the more they know the faster they can fix things and the more valuable they will be.

Hardware and bandwidth will continue to decrease in cost but people will always increase your costs. But if you properly plan things out you should have no problem covering those costs.

From what I've read here, it sounds like marketing is by far the highest cost. While there are quite a few variables, I believe you can keep support costs down -- at least at first. If you know your system well enough, you can provide the support or, if you've hired someone to take calls, make sure they are trained well so they can escalate issues to you correctly.

From everything I've looked in to, marketing is by far the most expensive piece and the most difficult. That and providing yourself a salary would be pretty difficult, but I think it's pretty easy to familiarize yourself with the rest of your system to a point that they cost more time than money. Of course, I'm a bit biased, being a computer geek myself.
