Hi,
I'm a reseller for a UK company and they refuse to allow rm files on their servers, quoting this in their terms and conditions...

,,Streaming media can be a drain on web server resources and as such is not allowed.,,.

My question from other resellers is this. Is this normal or am I with a narrow minded company? Should I accept this as normal or start looking elsewhere?

Thanks

Hi,

Most hosts don't have Real Media. It is a valuable plus really. First of all it costs alot to get the software on a server and then there is the resource issue. Alot of hosts sign up people, hoping they won't eat all their transfer allowance. If you offer a transfer eater like Streaming Media then your clients will use it just because they can and it starts to get expensive.

We are thinking about installing it but on one shared and one reseller plan and it will cost more than the normal packages.
