View Full Version : Poll: Is Ensim competing against their ServerXchange customers?

I wanted to get a little feedback from this forum. I will give you a little run down of what I am talking about. For Starters, Ensim charges their ServerXchange customers $5500 to get started and a minimum of $2500 a month. Then they charge them up to $50/month per copy of WebPliance. Then Ensim turns around and starts selling Webpliance to the public for a $200 one-time per server fee, which in-return lowers the value of the product. Yet ServerXchange customers are locked into a pricing schedule that is unfair and uncompetitive. I personally think if some of the serverXchange customers knew ahead of time that Ensim would be screwing them over like this, I doubt they would have ever signed up for the package. Does anyone else in here think that this business practice is a little shady?

As matter of fact, one year ago you had to buy ServerXchange if you wanted Webpliance. Plus ServerXchange was $25k back then and you had to pay that to even get in the door.

I would like to hear from Ensim executives about this. I know that not everybody in here major's in ecconomics, but when you lower the price of a product that low, how can you expect your resellers that are locked into a pricing schedule that can't even come close to $200 a year to compete.

This pissed us off too. We contacted Ken and he took care of this. They are aware of the disparity between the two right now. I think they will eventually drop the reoccurring all together and go one-time even with SX guys. This is apparent in the Windows release.

Although I love Ensim, as their company has always been helpful and professional, I still get heartburn when I look at what we paid for SX in 12/00. :-)

Ditto hear.. After we paid what you paid in 6/01, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the standalone version come out for $99. Although it doesn't have the features that SX gives us (virtual servers, etc..), I felt that Ensim should have dedicated there advetising efforts in getting us referrals instead of selling the product outright. That way, everyone benefits. I too love the Ensim product, but it makes me seriously think of what the future will bring when it come to Ensim and Ours' relationship.

Just think of damage we could do if Ensim stood behind their SX owners with coop ad dollars!

My rant is over.

Not only are they competing with ServerXchange customers, but now they are cutting phone support and making us pay even more per month for this Silver, Gold and Platinum Status. They cut the prices of the Webpliances in less than half, and Raise the prices for ServerXchange customers and they are giving us less? Something needs to give here. Why doesn't level the playing field a little here, this is not what I signed on for.
I think What Ensim really needs is a worthy competitor.....maybe that will keep them honest.

Sorry Ensim, but your gouging is beginning to Pi$$ alot, if not all of your ServerXchange customers off.

At $100/mo for support plus the fees associated with SX, I really do not know why they don't keep the support plans the same for SX guys. I about sh** my pants when I saw the price for the next level up in support (what we have now at $100/mo). It was like $12,000 or $15,000/yr I think starting in 2003. I am all for paying for quality support - but not that much! Especially when the only reasons we call them is because of their bugs anyway.

On a side note, I know they are restructuring the SX Win WP to be more competitive with stand alone.

I heard the rumor that after LS 3.1 release they will raise the price again. Anyone knows if this is true? if so, that should give you some comfort.
