Hi, there is this website i know, their renewal date has long passed, been 2 and a half months, i try checking if the domain is available but its not and it says its already registred..., when do you think this domain will be released? as its already been well due past its renewal date...,

If it says 'registered' it means registered. Two and a half month is well enough for expired domain to be released and then registered again.

Search these forums and you'll see that it's not so easy to register expired domain as it were... There are companies which pick-up EVERY single drop at the very second it's becoming available.

Ok i know what i saw..., this domain was registered, tis registration has expired look below:

Relevant Dates:
Registered on: 14-Sep-1999
Renewal Date: 14-Sep-2005
Last updated: 06-Dec-2000

Registration Status:
Renewal required.

Name servers listed in order:
ns.webfusion.co.uk
ns2.webfusion.co.uk

they are with webfusion.co.uk and also this domain is not so popular like it will attract companies..., its just a name an ordinary domain nothing big. Its just that i want it..., and it says when i do a domain availability check that this domain is already registered. Can i like apply? etc etc? im with 1&1 and they give you an option where it says "you can have this domain if you are the owner" dont really understand that though..,

Sorry, I don't understand what are you trying to say. Please provide FULL whois output (w/o domain name) or share domain name with us so we could be able to do whois ourselves.

The domain is probably still in Redemption, where the previous domain registrant has first {and only} dibs, until the Registrar lets it go... I believe Redemption can be like 60 to 90 days.

You believe in wrong things... ;)

Redemption period is 0-30 days and is upto registrar to decide it's exact length. Please check here: http://www.domain-retriever.com/images/life.gif if in doubt.

redemption is imposed by the registry and is normally 30 days

So... Please provide. Because the info you've given us above is somewhat not usual... For example I've not heard of domain status "Renewal required" before.

well dont we all learn something new everyday! i'll show you a small screenshot, i mean.., i didnt make the this term "Renewal required" up all by myself, i jsut copied and pasted from what whois lookup showed me. I guess it depends of what type of Whois lookup you use..., i use DNS Stuff

No. This depends of registrar's whois server. And there's NO such status in gTLDs I'm aware of. Perhaps you're speaking about some egzotic ccTLD?

That's what I also thought when I saw the "Renewal Required" line. So is this re:
a .com or another extension?

its a .co.uk, im a t college at the moment, when i get home this evening i will upload a screenshot of the neccessary DNS details. Mind you..., the guy has had his domain for like just over 6 and a half years..., i think he got bored of it, as i use to be a visitor, his main purpose was a forum he use to run. But his forum was bone dry and is always bone dry hence i got a feeling hes given up, so that is why i am waiting for it be released for me to buy it quickly,

If it a co.uk the status of renewal required I have seen before. It just means the name is expired
