View Full Version : Vote for the best overall e-commerce solution
btanner4 11-12-2005, 12:27 AM Hello everyone...
I will be doing a review for the top e-commerce providers for a business project soon. I can only pick the top 3 or 4 from this list to review so if you all could help me out and vote for who you think is best I would appreciate it very much.
These are the deciding factors, in order of importance:
1) Most respected in the industry
2) Reliable service, great products
3) Great customer service
4) Good value
Thanks for the help!
btanner4 11-14-2005, 03:49 PM Thanks for the 1 vote whoever you are.
Anyone else? ...
successful 11-15-2005, 11:49 PM Add CubeCart, osCommerce, phpCoin, ZenCart, CREloaded, MyMarket, xt:Commerce, CandyPress and you'll get many more response.
swingsam 11-17-2005, 06:38 PM also add jshop, digishop, supracart
Rob28k 11-21-2005, 02:48 AM X-Cart should
rondo 11-21-2005, 08:35 PM It depends what you are selling.
mjfroggy 12-06-2005, 01:19 PM My vote for Zencart
:-) it is the BEST free software on the market with tons of people on the forums who help with any questions
Dan Grossman 12-06-2005, 02:33 PM But ZenCart is not an "overall e-commerce solution" -- it only handles a single small part -- the shopping cart.
Patrick 12-06-2005, 03:47 PM osCommerce is nice, but so is Miva Merchant...
wbpro 12-06-2005, 08:04 PM I vote for osCommerce and Zen-Cart --- Even though they are not in the list
azvert.com 12-06-2005, 11:02 PM oscommerce by far
Dan Grossman 12-07-2005, 12:19 AM Again, not an "e-commerce solution", just a shopping cart. Most of the sites listed in the poll (which is not mine) are more than just carts -- hosted solutions, database integration, payment processing... Perhaps you want to create a "best shopping cart" thread?
Mitsurugi 12-07-2005, 05:46 AM Whatever you say on this forum, everyone just says "oscommerce, oscommerce, oscommerce!".
Personally I think it's a badly written piece of software. I'd rather have a professional solution which covers all bases.
But on this forum, don't expect anything other than oscommerce.
figohatem 12-07-2005, 10:15 AM I Think Site Selling Is The Best
figohatem 12-07-2005, 10:18 AM It Is More Reliable
Mall23 12-09-2005, 03:13 PM Yeah, it'd be interesting to see what happens if you do throw OSCommerce up in the list.
The poll's been going for a month as it is, with negligible results (sorry bout that)...why not have some fun with it now? :)
...and, Mitsurugi pm me the dev/web forum that DOESN'T scream OSCommerce...
brianoz 12-10-2005, 09:20 PM I agree, I think you've left out a few that should have been included! Like osCommerce!
Dan Grossman 12-11-2005, 12:25 AM I agree, I think you've left out a few that should have been included! Like osCommerce!
Which, again, is not an ecommerce solution, but a shopping cart. There IS a difference.
brianoz 12-11-2005, 03:35 AM osCommerce not an eCommerce solution? It includes shopping cart, catalogue, payment, stock, all that sort of stuff - smells like an eCommerce solution to me! What specifically were you looking for that's not in eCommerce? I guess it's definition-dependent, but still interested in your answer, it may help some of us!
TKWebTools 12-11-2005, 06:24 PM Seems like you missing a few carts on that list. SunShop is one of them.
Definition of E-commerce: Stands for Electronic Commerce. An E-commerce site is any site that involves the buying and selling of goods and services. Typically requires a shopping cart system and a payment processing system.

1ahosting 12-11-2005, 07:45 PM I have used x-cart. Its has nice features. :)

Dan,
Can you please expound on this please ?
If I had to choose an application which is the most commonly used "ecommerce solution" it would most likely be OSC.
