i just try to register a domain and i can't get that $2.99 price. it ask to enter my yahoo id and i use the one where i have SBC Yahoo DSL and it take me to sbc small business just before complete my order i saw they charge the the domains for 2 yrs at $9.95 per year.
do you need to order hosting to get that $2.99 price?

It shouldn't be necessary to buy other stuff to get the $2.99 price. Of course even if it worked right you would be facing $9.95/yr at renewal time. You could of course transfer to someplace else, but that takes time. How much is your time worth? Maybe you should count your blessings that your first malfunction with Yahoo was when you were about to try to register a domain for $2.99.

No, you don't need hosting. If you have a hard time finding the right link, go to google and search for domain registration. On the right hand side, there should be an advertisement for the 2.99 rate, click on it and you should be at the right place.
