I am currently using DragonglyCMS for my hosting website. I wanted some opinions from both hosting providers and customers on if using a CMS makes me look unprofessional. Would it be better to design my own site from scratch? I am planning on doing that at a later date, i just don't have the time ATM, so i wanted to go ahead and get a basic site launched for now, but i don't want to put the image of my company at stake by being hasty about it.

Using a CMS isn't the bad part, many would think that using a default template or look and feel from a CMS is what's bad. However, there are some successful companies (including hosting companies) that use or have used barely-modified CMS default templates. Didn't seem to hurt their business.
I think using a CMS is great for you, makes it more efficient to update your content, etc. But, I'd recommend that you use one that is very customizable layout-wise and that you do so. There are many CMS programs that you can use and people wouldn't even know you were - that's the idea, right?

nothing wrong with using a CMS, i think that's a positive. just make sure to modify the default templates consderably so it shows that you have put some effort into it.

yea, really depends on the sort of customization you're looking to acheive...a lot of the freebie php type cms applications get you off and running fairly quick but when it comes to customization for your exact needs it takes a bit of finagling...we've developed our own custom CMS for the majority of our sites using ColdFusion.
