View Full Version : Order Script

Creative-Eye

We just opened today and already have several customers. Our website isn't operational yet due to the fact that I couldn't find a good order form. I have a PayPal merchant account and all the form would have to do is bill my customer and email me the info. I've found one on the net, but $150 is a little over my budget. Can anyone recommend a good script? Thanks.

Sincerely,
Creative-Eye.net Co-CEO Boris Mirsaliyev

Please see another post I made in this thread that actually has the script ATTACHED - I will delete any PMs that has to do with the order script. Thank you.

------------- ORIGINAL -------------
if you PM me your email address, I'll send you an order script that I've coded long ago that has been included as an 'extra' in ModernBill's script.

its free but the only catch is that I can't provide any time for 'support' for the script... ;)

I've sent you the info by PM, but just in case: freemaker9@hotmail.com. Thanks again.

Im always looking for new scripts I can possibly use - Anyone wanna offer it to me too? :)

alpha
04-23-2002, 02:56 PM
got too many PMs - I don't have that much time at this time of the year to send out the script every night - so im just gonna attach the zip file to this thread...

*clears throat*
PLEASE READ THE README.TXT FILE!!!!!

*ow, yelling hurts my throat* ;)

FAQ
----------------------------------

Q: Am I allowed to post this on other forums/my site?
A: Yes, just as long as the zip file remains intact and all the file header information remains intact!

Q: Am I allowed edit the script to include more features?
A: Yes, just as long as the zip file remains intact and all the file header information remains intact! (the new author should ADD what he added to the script to the header - but can not edit any other information on the header)

Q: Are you going to be updating this script anytime soon?
A: No.

Q: Are you going to make another script that will have more features and more easy to use/setup in the future?
A: Yes, definately but I'm not sure if this will be pertained to just hosts - will be working on the flowcharts later. I probably won't be working alone with it. ;)

Q: Will you be offering support for this script?
A: No. Please use it at your own discretion.

Q: Can you help customize the script for my own/company's needs?
A: You need to contact me and ask for a quote for whatever you need customization on.

Q: Do you accept donations?
A: Yes, if you feel that the script works well for you/your company and wish to donate funds so that I can keep my hosting account with whichever host I'm currently using, please send any amount you want to john@alpha-digital.com through PayPal.

Thanks

This looks ALOT like the Vortech signup script that comes with ModernBill (http://www.modernbill.com).

You may want to change that before either MB or Vortech come after you.

Alpha and others,

The current "Vortech Signup" is a highly modified version of the original script. So, to say that Alpha wrote the ModernBill script is an incorrect statement. The script was purchased from Alpha then we (ModernBill) were given the rights to use the script in early versions of the software.

Alpha, if you want to explain the history of this situation, please... be my guest.

This script is brilliant, something i've been looking for for years. The only thing bad about it is it's not set to search other extensions like .co.uk etc.

I'm looking at adding that now though - will post the code if i get it done today.

Got to the part:

"Choose a Hosting Package
The configurations do not match up. Please correct the error in the configurations."

Since I was using my own Domain Name and checked "I am the owner" I don't understand what the msg. means. It might refer to your pricing as clicking "Calculate Price" returns a "Price per term" of zero. Great price BTW. :D

Clicking the "Next" button showed the form as it should -- except price was still showing zero.

I used Mozilla v1RC1 with ZoneAlarm.

Now that I've spoken with alpha, made sure I had my story straight and he was ok with me posting in regards to your comments Mbill Admin I shall begin.

A while back Votech Hosting comissioned Alpha to write the script for their own private use, after the script was written alpha did not grant any rights to vortech to distribute the script, since it was contract labor with no contract if i'm not mistaken (very well may be but its a mute point now) he would have remianed the copyright holder.

Now, since there was no paperwork between alpha and vortech there's not much he could do when vortech gave you the script without his permission.

Alpha then attempted to contact you in which you were of course unresponsive to him.

While you may have heavily modified the new code you began upon a code and have made money off of a code which you should not have gotten in the first place, but since you did, alpha was unfortinuately left with little other option than at least GPLing it since everybody else seemd to be getting for free.

So please, make sure you include the whole story next time, might not make a difference to anybody and I don't expect anything out of it, but it is important for people to know what goes on and how things come to be.

Add this into your SSL virtual host in apache.

SetEnvIf User-Agent ".*MSIE.*" \
nokeepalive ssl-unclean-shutdown \
downgrade-1.0 force-response-1.0

Sometimes browser cache and other items can cause scripts like that to conk out with dns errors or similar errors, adding that will correct it.

Anybody have any idea how to integrate this script with 2checkout??? My knowledge of PHP is definetly not good enough to try it!! ;)

Vortech
04-30-2002, 11:44 PM
I did not plan to reply to this. But..

I see this as a very dead issue as you are only telling 1/2 of the story. I just really don't fell like messing with it any longer. alpha and I have talked about this and is really all i care about and see no issuse with him gving the script out for free from what we have talked about..

So in words have fun guys. Sorry just don't fell like getting back in to this.

But DanielP before putting my co. name on some thing please get your story stright first as you are way off in your post here..

DanielP
04-30-2002, 11:52 PM
If my story is way off then you'll need to correct it, I have no intention of getting into a mud slinging battle or anything of that nature, I am just stating what I know and have been told about the issue, so if I'm wrong you can correct me here, and if I am indeed wrong then I apologize, but I say what I mean and mean what I say and I have no reason to doubt what i've been told, but at the same time its your choice if you wish to correct me or not.

Vortech
05-01-2002, 12:07 AM
As I said I see it as a dead issuse and have no reason to correct what you said.

Only thing i will comment on is " no paperwork between alpha and vortech " this was not only our fault but alpha's and what kind of made the problem. I learned from that one fast and was more of a miss understanding between us not any one else. :)

Just what you said is not correct is all i need to say on the issuse.

DanielP
05-01-2002, 12:10 AM
Thats fine, I respect your right to do that.

Also, yes I agree it was a fault on both parties that there was no paperwork involved. However, hindsight is 20/20 .

Vortech
05-01-2002, 12:13 AM
Yea you got that one right.. :)

does anybody know how to encrypt the email using GnuPG? since this script does email the credit card number.

I know it takes place on the 4 page "final.php"

at the end where it is mailing the info.

mail($email, $subject, $email_body . $message . $message_secure . $message2 . $message3, $headers);

mail($order_email, $subject, $message . $message_admin . $message2, $headers);

could somebody who knows php add the encryption to this?

i think this is the how to do it

<?
$commandline = "echo \"$msg\" | /usr/bin/gpg --homedir /pathtouserhome/youruser/.gnupg -a -r 'Subject' -e";
exec($commandline,$encrypted);
if (is_array($encrypted)) {
$encrypted = implode("\n", $encrypted);
}
if ($encrypted) {
$recipient = "youraddress@yourdomain.com";
$subject = "Encrypted Message ";
mail($recipient, $subject, $encrypted);
}
?>

where $msg holds the email content. I just don't know how to put that together with whats in the sendmail part since it combines them on the fly instead of making just what message.

if you can help, please post your results. cause this is really a great script but just missing this essential bit.

make sure the config files is setup properly. "correct paths" and such.

My reply is in two parts:

1) David from FDHost - I got past your error for secure by making sure in the config file the $script_url had a trailing /

2) Now I can't get past the calcuate price screen. Everytime I click the button it brings me back to the same screen.

Script is at https://www.manlius.com

I think gnupg has a command to output to standard output. you can then use shell_exec() or something to get it.

is it necesary to have the public key installed for "nobody"...

i thought that since the script requires you for the "recipient" part, wouldn't that take care of it?

no need to use "nobody" but would use your own public key.

This is caused because the data is not being passed from one part of the script to the next. This may be caused by having a cookie blocker or your browser isn't setup to allow cookies. This may also be a problem if you are running a firewall such as ZoneAlarm.
