I watched a little bit of that last night on the news, there were tears in my eyes :( It's horrible how a mistake like that can be made, everytime I hear 'friendly' fire.. I cringe.

My deepest sympathies to the families and friends.

Yes it was sad. I was watching it on the news. I can't image how that pilot feels.

Those who want peace, unfortunately, need it. :(

It is useless for the sheep to pass laws in favor of vegetarianism when the fox is of a different opinion.

Read and understand the history of this planet.

If you do a little research, war has solved nothing. If it did there would have only been one war several thousand years ago and that would have been it. But I think the world has seen 100,000 wars and were still counting. Until the final war comes

Terrible accident, first casualties since the Korean war, not including the 100 odd peacekeepers who have been killed in action.
Amen

On the contrary, war has solved the problems of aggression many times.

The item that you overlook, and the reason why there will always be wars, is that we (i.e., humans) are not stagnant inhabitants of this planet. When the peace agreeements are made after one war, there will always be aother flare-up in some other part of the world. Toss in the different religions and the various religious crusades, and you have a rather volatile mixture.

I would much prefer to live in the idyllic world of peace you envision, so did Neville Chamberlain.
