You guys should think about doing WHT radio or WHT podcast or something like that. You guys would get a lot of listners to that. I think that would be a great addition to WHT.

-Industry happenings (web hosting, game hosting, VoiP, dedicated, colocation, datacenters, ISP's, etc.) and just important tech news.
-Tips/.Suggestions/advice etc. to companies
-Interesting threads that have been posted on the forums
-Lots of other stuff that I'm too tired to think about ;)

Man, I didnt even realize they did that...
Well still, they should think about expanding to podcasts and maybe more radio shows seeing that there is only 1 show right now. However I havent listened to it yet but I will tonight, cant wait. They should advertise their radio shows more. Seems like many people dont know about it.

I'd pay some good money to see that in a videocast... ;)

The PodCast or Radio program would be full of advertisements. I wouldn't listen to it if I had to actually HEAR a Site5 ad. Aren't they hard enough on the eyes? The last thing I'd want is for their ads to come to my second sense.

WarpFactor, why do you think it would be full of ads? iNet is well-funded.. paying for bandwidth wouldn't exactly be a big issue for them.

Harsh, yet still somewhat funny. :P I don't think radio advertising for hosts is very effective. Anyways, I think a podcast would be a good idea, and it could be hosted for free on one of those sites.

Once upon a time there was web hosting radio. It was hosted by rewdog, jbiz, and some other people. Their broadcast was streamed using shoutcast, and featured interviews with industry people, and some damn funny prank calls to various web hosting companies (eg: rackshack - http://rewdog.com/rackshack.mp3 , aitcom - http://rewdog.com/ait.mp3) .

Then the project was bought by robert marsh. Robert didn't really do anything with it. On the day they were scheduled to have the first broadcast, there was a fire at rackshack, and the broadcast was cancalled and 'scheduled for a later date'. That later date never happend.

Then WHT was sold to inet, and webhostingradio came with the purchase.

Then inet didn't do anything with it for a while.

Then i urged rewdog to start doing webhostingradio again, and he contacted inet, and inet got a server for it from rackshack, and they started broadcasting.

That broadcast was short lived because jbiz and rewdog were too busy for it. Rewdog joined up with inogenius for a few broadcasts, but it eventually died. It has been said that inet didn't support the project enough, but i don't know much about that, so i'm not gonna go into much detail about it.

Since then, it's been an idle project. WHTIRC sits on the server WHTRadio is hosted on. It would be nice to see some people get back on the project, but nobody has really volunteered.

I talked to Lenny once about starting it back up, but he needed to talk to Ryan about it. I forgot to call back. That was about a year or so ago.

Depending on the date/time/resources for the project, I'd be willing to volunteer my time as a host. I'd need someone to co-host with me though -- otherwise it'd turn into the the "ino blabs for an hour or so" which wouldn't be very entertaining.

I listened to that thing with Rackshack, quite funny. That guy was a pretty good sport.

I've sent out an email to someone that may be able to get it going, but I'll wait and see what I hear. :)

If you're up for it, and iNet will help us out, it sounds good to me.

Who wants a podcast? I'd much rather have a shoutcast stream.

you can have a podcast AND a shoutcast stream. 2 is better than 1 ;)

eg: rackshack - http://rewdog.com/rackshack.mp3 , aitcom - http://rewdog.com/ait.mp3)

Gosh those are great. If WHT created more stuff like that - I'd listen every time. Hahahaha.
