View Full Version : WHM AutoPilot v3 is released.
mrzippy 11-03-2005, 07:40 AM Just in case there are some WHM AP users here who missed the announcement, the new version (v3) was just released to all existing license holders.

Sohan 11-06-2005, 10:56 AM Yeh, i'm waiting for my download.
The client importer is not working properly yet, though. Kind of puts a damper on the whole thing, for me, anyway.
They're reportedly working on it.
empresasdehosting 11-06-2005, 11:25 AM how is the new order form ? or is the same like in previous versions?

You can see a sample of how it works here (http://www.httpeasy.net/order). This is the hosting website for the autopilot outsourced developer.
The new order system now uses a shopping cart style, but I think it's a bit cluttered with the "enter your domain" boxes for every plan on the page. Also, more importantly, the width is too big so it breaks most web designs that have a standard left-side navigation area.
Maybe they'll improve it over the next while, or more likely someone will eventually develop a 3rd party "improved order form". Supposedly this is possible with the API system. But since there is no documentation for it.. it will likely be a while.
empresasdehosting 11-06-2005, 01:15 PM Very thanks for the info mrzippy

There are bugs with every major new product release. The important thing is how a company reacts to them :)
Canaduh 11-06-2005, 03:10 PM For this script being a year late it does not stand up to what they promised. Bare bone system with no features and bugs. Very disappointing, I'm glad I didn't purchase the script.
whatever 11-06-2005, 04:19 PM From what I have seen of it so far, I'm disappointed and will no longer purchase the system. I'm choosing Modernbill instead, predominately because I do not like the order form - it seems cluttered, like a shopping cart and I don't need that many domain prompts.
mrzippy 11-06-2005, 04:23 PM I don't understand why they didn't publicly utilize their existing customer base for assistance to design a better order form.
It would have been advantageous to have made a "here's what we have now - please submit your design improvements" contest or something. After all, the system is supposed to be easily skinnable, so it's not like core code would have needed to be revealed...
It also would have helped to make the community feel like they were involved in the development process, etc...
Oh well. Maybe next time.
hostpacks 11-07-2005, 07:06 AM This project was well overdue and still doesnt seem to be all that was offered to us when this project was just a twinkle in there eyes.
This is a great package but i wait to be impressed with the new ideas.
SHTech 11-07-2005, 08:53 AM By the way, LPanel.net could be the better choice - while it manage cPanel servers at this moment it is very easy to use, but powerfull in features.
Sad, that WHMAP not pushed development and the hosting automation industry not to get the leader to run by...
RW-Steven 11-07-2005, 10:22 AM I have lifetime licenses for both modernbill and whmap3.
In my opinion the order form was a lot better in v2 & the amount of hassle you have to go to just to get your plans and packages to display right is ridiculous, ive said it numerous times already and ill say it again, very dissapointed.
Needless to say i wont be using it in a live enviroment.
Still doesnt come close to modernbill.
Cats-Computing 11-08-2005, 01:59 AM I have owned licenses for clientexec, modernbill and whmap. I must say this is a disappointing release from WHMAP. I really don't want to switch back to another one but I may have to.
whatever 11-08-2005, 04:40 AM I have completely disregarded WHMAP from my considerations for a replacement billing system following this release. I'll continue with Modernbill now instead of Clientexec.

Why? Please be specific.
qubefactor 11-08-2005, 11:02 PM I'm a bit disappointed as well, however I am expecting good things to come from developers who take advantage of the modular system of it.

And two months later it is still not working! I put in a high-priority bug report and Brandee downgraded it to a "tweak"
We cann not import all the client data from v2, you would that that would be high priority?
