(Well I got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning and not had my first coffee so I'm not in a great mood anyway..)

I've sent a few presales enquires to places to get some quotes on new rack space etc for myself to expand into and use some of the usual middle sized UK placers (Coreix, Dedipower, Poundhost etc..) and got the level of service of would expect so thumbs up to them. However I also tried some of the small companies as you can get a better level of service which bring me to my rant.

I asked for a test download and IP to ping so I get back normal URL but the IP supplied by one company is said to be that of then end user, i.e. a dedicated server they have sold. So I go off testing and out of interest connect to port 25 to see which SMTP banner I get back. Lo and behold it says website.servercompany.com.

I mean I don't mind being told if its your coporate webserver but please don't tell me its yours end user as that just gets me unhappy..
