I see that many people now offer affiliate datafeeds for products. I am royally confused as to how to publish these feeds in web sites or create web sites from these feeds. Any resources or tips?

You mean RSS (Really Simple Syndicate)? you can check this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_(protocol)
The idea is by making a standard XML page & publish this link to public, & they can read it either by a Desktop software or Web Application. Do a search in Google & you'll find many many resources
