I see where there can be problems with cheap hosting but I host my site with fxhost and I origionally was paying £1 ($1.50)per month I used them for 8 months then upgraded and I now pay £3($4.50) per month for more options.

I understand that people believe you get what you pay for but I am totally satisfied with my host and yes it is very very cheap.

Why is that?

I have had no problems with the sales and support provided and they may be cheap.

Can you provide the same service for less? after checking your link the basic package is £7 per month?

So what would I get from you that I dont get from fxhost

You wouldnt get nothing from me. I'm just a happy customer of kdawebservices. I pay that little bit extra for my account to get a better level of service.

You should email kdawebservices to see what they can offer u. Only way im affliated with them is on a customer level.

You are making assumtions that if you pay more money you get a better service?

But as I don't pay a lot for the service and still get good support. I couldn't comment on why someone thinks that by paying more you get a better service. Because I dont believe for one minute that I would get better support paying £70 a year to the company you host with than paying £12 to the company I host with.

And anyway the money is better in my back pocket than theres

Don't you agree?

Personally, Davez, I don't see why you, just a customer, are reacting so strongly. The comment Technics made was that yours was the first positive comment he'd seen about your host. That is, he didn't argue with you, and didn't say that you could do better elsewhere. Technic's observation was as simple, direct, and presumably accurate as my comment here: "Thats the first comment I've ever heard about that host."You are making assumtions that if you pay more money you get a better service? You said it yourself in your first post:Originally posted by Davez

I dont pay £70 a year .... I've just paid £56 for 3 months service with my own nameservers. I like the personal service i get from them. I speak to Karl one of the owners daily on yahoo and he's extremly helpful. In the past month i must of spent at least £150 with them and have gotten the best service i've ever paid for. I used to think the support from tera-byte couldnt be beaten but i was proved wrong.

The quality of service provided by karl and deane ( never spoke to deane though )..... Is far superior to any host i've ever used. Normally im really tight with my money and wont pay loads for hosting. But when you get service like kda are providing im prepared to pay large amounts.

Point taken if you like the service that you recieve then you pay, you like the service you recieve from your host and I like the service I recieve from mine.

LOL - think of it as an initiation that everyone goes through (that doesn't involve paddles and drinking until your heart rate becomes horizontal). :)

What gets me is how people think they can get away with making an obvious post that is a promotional one.

Ooh look I found this great company, they are the best in the world and I don't own them honest.

Yeah, you can kinda pick up on the 'sound' of the post quite quickly. I don't know if you check out tips-tricks, but there is one really idiotic person who attempted a pathetic shameless promotion of their company (some of you may remember that this person claimed that Bill Gates was buying the company).

No matter how good you are, it is *very* unlikely that 3 new users come to a board and start touting the service of a host that has never been heard of before.

There's one host that I am particularly SICK of here who is at least sneaky (gotta give them a bit of credit). Instead of the usual, "Hey CompanyABC has been so helpful and they offer everything I needed, yadda yadda yadda!", they have pretended to be a beginning webmaster and plugged the company inside really stupid questions.

*sign*

I guess if you can't get customers by providing a decent service at reasonable prices, you have to resort to this. I'm NOT talking about Sharkman and newbies who make mistakes, I'm talking about the ones who do it over and over and deny that they did/are doing it when confronted.

I remember the person who said Bill Gates was going to nuy them, they tried it on SitePoint as well if I remember correctly - shame they don't realise half the Admins (And some regulars) here are Advisors at SitePoint.
