Ok, I am new to the reseller thing. I have a client with 40+ sites I need to host. Here is my question: With the reseller plan I am currently on I am required to have "them" set up any accounts, and dns any domains for new accounts I get. This is very timeconsuming. Is it normal to be so dependant on your provider? Are there reseller set-ups where the reseller can set everything up (meaning when I get a new client I can set up the domain info in the name server create the account and everything)? Doesnt it just stink being new :rolleyes:

Do you mean, you being able to set-up accounts in realtime instead of having your provider do it for you? There are quite a few companies that offer this ...do a search or place a request in the requests forum :)

Here's what you should know:
Most reseller plans come with master Control Panel where you can set up everything from adding dns, creating new account & email. You are totally independant, no need to contact your host to set up anything after signing up.

Kiwi and NetworksData are right on the money. Most good web host management software will let you set up a name based or IP based site within minutes. Of course, you (or the client) still have to change the DNS / nameserver info with the domain name registrar. Then, as usual, you have to wait 12 to 72 hours for the change to propagate through the web.
