On a raq 3 located at TB, i have a lot of problems receiving emails.
This is the error you get when sending a message to these accounts:

----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
user@reciever.com
(reason: 553 <sender@adress.com>... No such user here)

----- Transcript of session follows -----
... while talking to receiver.com.:
>>> MAIL From:<sender@adress.com> SIZE=27
<<< 553 <sender@adress.com>... No such user here
501 5.6.0 user@receiver.com... Data format error

I've checked all the obvious:
DNS records are all there (it used to work, and still does for some senders), the domains are mentioned in de relay/recieve boxes in the raq's mail settings.

The raq's main domain is moved, i did'nt bother to enter a new domain (until today when this problem got worse), could it have anything to do with this ? some DNS mixup ?
Is the main domain of any importance to receiving mail on other domains on the same server ?

Any other ideas are very welcome i getting desperate :bawling:

Ok, I have know Idea whats up with your system. But just curious if you have recently installed Open Webmail???? I have noticed a on slaught of unexplainable email problems with my server since we switched from Neomail to Openwebmail. I thought I would see if maybe this was true for you as well.

I hate to be the one to ask the obvious but.... did you either create a user "sender" or add "sender" to your email aliases?

The "no such user here" is a well known error message and it usually means just that: the user to whom the email is addressed has not been created (does not exist).

It's either that or you have a problem with your alias database but the first option is more realistic.

I've lost it completely now.

I can send from my kabel account (Chello), but can't from my other raq.
Although i can send messages to anyone NOT on this particular server.

I guess its a DNS issue.

So i can't send mail to a particular server1 using an account from another server2, but i can from my providers server.
These servers are not in the same datacenter (not even on the same continent).

But from server2 i can send mail to anyone else in the world

Luckaly i'm getting only few complaints from accounts on server1, so most people CAN send to it.

Would it be wise to give a email adres here so you can all test it ? i can delete the account afterwards ?

I did a little more testing, mailing to username@domain.com works perfectly, mailing to mailalias@domain.com doesn't work. ("User unknown")

How can I fix this??
