Hello:

I keep getting billed on my credit card from my Hosting service yet I don't get notifications on it.

I know they have my e-mail since they send me server updates.

Just wondering is it appropriate for it? They told me I will get some free months of hosting so when I didnt get e-mail notifications I thought it was because of that.

Not ussually......
most companies use a merchant system, when you set up your account you authorize them to charge your credit card monthly until you cancel your account.

So no, most likely you wouldnt get notification, you would want to keep track of it in your own books and pre-plan for it

Hi,
I have been a host for several years, and can tell you that most hosts do not have any automated billing programs that send out notices. Our first 3 years, we billed manually, then spent most of the last year making changes to the billing programs.

Billing programs for hosts are very expensive, and keep the smaller to midsized hosts from using them for that reason. Only a few merchant account places send an email notice when they bill a card, and there are tons of merchant account providers.

I would find it more odd if you weren't getting monthly billing statements by email, if you're getting billed monthly.

Are there really that many hosting companies that don't send out billing statements?

I guess I've been lucky to never have had one that didn't. Out of the 10 I've used, they all sent out monthly billing statements by email.

The hosts I've been with usually sent out biling notices to. Even the real poor ones like gxhosting.com? or something ,forgot.

The host I'm using now is HostRocket and they usually did send me notices but all of a sudden sopped.

Your statements are all available online at http://www.rocketsupport.com - just login to your rocketsupport account like you were going to send in a ticket or check server status etc, and its right there in the invoices section.

We always send a bill before the due date then when they are billed we send a receipt.
This gives the client time to make sure there is enough credit on the card or change payment method before they are billed.

Hello all,

Well It is getting close to Vacation time and I am not sure about you all but I am looking for some help for the week. My partner is a CPA. He is good at billing but is not so good at support.

You would thing their would be a very good market for this service. I have done a search and only found one company. The bad thing is they are not taking on any other customers. They said that they could not even take on one for a week!

If I need help with Vacations I am sure others do. I have asked my NOC but they say they don't know how to handle it.

Again this smells like money to me!

What do you all think about Outsourced Support for Web Hosting - SHORT TIME -?

Any one know about some one doing this?
