I thought the 250 limit was with IP based hosting. I have heard of people who have hosted over 250 name based accounts.

diyoha,

Yes, the 250 limit is for IP's bound to the Raq3 (from what I have read on the mailing lists... Never tried it). There use to be a flat 250 virtual site limit on the older Raq's but if you look at the config file on the Raq3's (the perl scripts that run the admin area) you will see that that is now commented out.

"..commented out.." - nice to hear, IŽll try to setup 750 on a RAQ3 at 4webspace and let you know whether it worked :)

hmmm, I thought it was 250 max, ip or no ip. This is good to hear as many sites require so little resources that it would be nice to not be limited to a specific number. I think the limit should be decided by the sys admin, and not a hard limit built into the server by Cobalt.

I had always thought it was Ip or non-IP as well. Read something about it deleting the 251st site. Just beware, and you might want to post to the user's mailing list. If you aren't in a rush, call/email Cobalt.

P.S. SHall I move all RaQ related questions to the Cobalt forum? Seems they are getting mixed which is counter productive. There are some old threads re: RaQs as well still mixed in all over the place. Not that I want to spend hours moving them all, *but* ...

The RaQ4 can have up to 250 IP based accounts, there is no hard limit on name based accounts. See page 36 of the Cobalt RaQ 4 Manual
