View Full Version : Am I being totally unreasonable?

I have a small dilemma here. I bought a reseller account, and use it mainly to give away free hosting accounts. Not a "free service" per se, but ordinary accounts with MySQL, control panel, IMAP/POP3, PHP, CGI - you know, ordinary accounts.

One thing I've made clear is that I only want to host top-level domains (which they have to buy themselves). The reason for this is that I host one of my own domains on this reseller account, and I want to keep it "pure" - no extra user accounts or subdomains that's unrelated to my domain.

For some this seems to be a real problem, I've gotten quite a lot of mail from people who can/will not understans why I can't just give them a user account/subdomain.

So - what's your opinion?

Thanks

I think, if you are giving things away; you have a right to give things away however you want to give things away.

absolutely...you are being reasonable....
not even going with the free part, many hosts (for paid accounts) wont allow subdomains off their main URL...

Also understand the mentality of these people complaining about what you're offerring. They basically want the world for free and probably complain the loudest when something goes wrong. If they keep up with this, tell them to get lost. :)

You are real scum, a slime ball, toe jam. Why not give the customer what they want? How about unlimited bandwidth? Allowing MP3s and warez? Free? Hell, you should be paying them for the honor of hosting their sites.
