I'm looking for a control panel for windows 2000 server.

I looked at the demo of H-Sphere at http://www.psoft.net and found it's very difficult to use and understand.

I also looked at http://www.hostingcontroller.com/ and found the demo are packed with broken links.

Can anyone recommend me a control panel that makes sense please?

I find the HostingController GUI very logical and easy to understand. However version 1.4.1 is slow and sure have some bugs.

We have now turned to H-Sphere and while you are right - it has a steep learning curve - it is really good. Some things are missing in the Win2000 version, such as a a file manager and also password protected directories.

It was a mess to get it running from an administrator point of view, but at least the end-user GUI H-Sphere is not much more complicated than HostingController.

HC is soon(???) releasing 2.0 and it might be worth waiting for it, cause another drawback of H-Sphere is the fact that you need at least one Linux machine in addition to your Win2000 boxes - to run DNS. mail, CP from.

Hsphere is very reliable and since it is spread over multiple servers it does not seem to kill the win2k boxes since they are really only being used for WWW & FTP I _think_ ?

Hsphere is tricky to learn but very reliable and the new Hsphere 2 is out soon so we hear which should be very nice!

I would not hold my breath for HC. Ensim has a panel in beta right now which looks very promising.
