Heres some questions that we are often asked, we figured we would include them here

Q. What does your system do to provide security?
A. WHNBilling uses multiple features when it comes to security, the first line of defense is encrypting all credit cards using RC4 encryption with a 128 bit key. Our second line of defense is using htaccess to allow only select people inside the billing management area. And the third is Zend Encoding, All our php files are now fully encoded so that the source code can not be seen by anyone trying to view it. All they will see is garble.

WHNBilling always recommends that you have a machine solely dedicated to your billing. This machine should be "locked down" with firewall protection and ip limitations so that only a select few people can access it. This advice goes along not only with WHNBilling's software, but for any billing program

Q. Do you have a discount for startup companies?
A. Yes we do. If you are a company that is just starting up, we are usually able to provide you with a large discount to help cover your growing costs. We usually provide new startups with as much as a 50% to 75% discount, depending on the circumstances

Q. Does WHNBilling work with ____________ gateway?
A. Gateways such as Worldpay, Revecom etc are more like 3rd level gateways, they require you to use their homepage to complete any transactions. WHNBilling and many other billing software require a API gateway such as the gateways we currently support

Q. What new gateways are you considering adding?
A. We are looking into adding the following gateways:
* Echo from Echo-Inc
* LinkPro from Cardservice International
* Paradata from Paradata.com

Q. How come I can not enter the Billing Management area?
A. Be sure your browser has cookies enabled, if they are, sometimes we get people who alter the u/p, if so, please email us promptly

Q. How much does WHNBilling normally cost?
A. Normal pricing for both our products are:

Q. Do you offer a lower pricing structure?

Q. Can we customize WHNBilling?

Althrough I don't live in USA, I have registered DownTownHost LLC in delaware, I'm getting in the next few weeks a bank checking account in USA too. I want to ask you if I classify for the Merchant account.

As far as i know, nothing major has changed in this area as its releated to web hosting services etc........So i dont see why it wouldnt be allowed.

I dooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooo, if its in the wrong area, the mods will likely see it and move it accordingly (and delete your question and this one as to not interfer with the orginal post :) )

My post deleted. Sorry, didn't mean to offend. It's just that I'd like to promote the app here but didn't want to break the rules. I have emailed robert from RS about whether I can promote the cashflow management app here but no reply in over 5 days. I thought it might have been a new rule they bought in although I've never really taken much notice of the small print there anyways. Just trying to do the right thing.

The automatic signup process only works with Cpanel enabled servers. These forms are of course fully customizable to your liking. The automatic /join/ area is DISABLED in our demo so it will not work.

To jump from billing to client area, you must hit the logout button, and always make sure cookies is turned on, If you fail to do so, you will not be able to get into the clients area until the cookie from the billing side is cleared out

These two areas are not designed so that an admin can 'jump' from one side to the other, Billing side is for Billing / Admin and the clients side is for Clients, so they do share (from what my programmer states) the same cookie information

If you happen to not hit the logout button, and renter, usualy with Internet Explorer, what works for me is closing down IE completely and then re-entering the Clients area.

What also works is pretty simple, if your not able to get into the clients area, and if your using Internet Explorer, use Netscape since both browsers dont use the same cookie

I also made it so that

1. No one can remove any user name / passwords in the demo
2. no one can alter any user name / passwords in the demo

I tested the clients area and got in OK with IE and NS

We have been getting a few emails with requests to add/remove features etc based on the warrents of how each business model is setup.

Web Hosting Network can do this, but there will be a $75.00 per hour fee to add/remove/change features.

You would have to email us first with your basic question and what you would want done, and we will respond with a rough estimate if it can be done and the costs involved.

Ok I have spent about 2 hours going through the demos and looking at all the options and features. This software is power packed will alot of options that other billing software do not have or at least that I have not seen yet.
The main feature that I like is the different gateways that have been setup with this package and also the reseller part of the software. Think you have convinced me will be sending you a email shortly.
Lastly the 75.00 charge for added features. Will I be able to work one on one with the programmer that will be doing these changes if needed?

Sir, well I am afraid to purchase although I want to :)

I have tried every billin system demo out there - If I like it... and I buy it... It doesn't work the same for me... If I don't like, I end up seeing someone else using it wondering how it works so well.

Get my point? I purchased modern bill the demo was great, the new version came out - It was great, but now it decided to lose all my customers credit card numbers, are couldn't bill anyone and sent out over 100 can't process credit cards but then billed them twice- Or something like that... I'm no thaving a good day.


I see a lot of features your system supports, and doesn't support at the same time (problem with not updating F AQ's or documentation correctly)

If you can please clarify on items your system supports, and the way it supports them, etc would be just great... For example, I remembered reading on your site that your software will NOT automatically suspend in cpanel? then I read somewhere else it will....


I do not currently use modernbill integrated with cpanel (because it's not supported) - But, I don't want auto account activation - But if I charge a CC and it fails - Auto suspension would be GREAT - As well as emailing the customer, etc.

I really need to know, what this program REALLY supports because the demo seems fine (program seems a little.. less features than modernbill) - And more expensive - Which is why I am afraid to make ANOTHER investment - I think I'll llose all my money trying to save money and time

Im a bit confused on your post, but let me try claify

1. We do have instant account creation integration with Cpanel
2. We are *working* on tighter integration, which would encompass the following
a. If a credit card is declined after 3 times, it would optional suspend the acct in cpanel
b. If a invoice is declined and the customer updates it, it would re-charge the card, and if approved, reactivate the account

3. The reason we dont have as much features as the next guy is simple, its made to fill the core need of a web hosting company. Theres limited features because those features we found though us and other companies are what is needed to really run a smooth operation. Now are those the ONLY features we have? Of course not, we are adding new features every day.

4. The reason our cost is higher then moderbill etc is because its worth more, its clean code, and its worth the value. We have asked many many well known companies even before making our pricing structure and they told us something of this would be in the retail value of $1000 to $1500 easily. We decided to cut back to $900.00 for the pro version on a month to month basis. With this special, you would only get it for $300.00 which is litterally a steal.

5. You completely own the software with lifetime updates. Unlike other companies, we stand behind our products for the life that you own your software, we dont make you pay extra after 6 months, 12 months or 2 years. You get discounts anytime a major version comes out and support via our helpdesk or when needed telephone.

I will state it again, this is very likely a once in a very very great while we will hold such special.
