Few weeks back I purchased a CPanel/WHM license with the following details:
IP: xxx.xxxx.xxx.xxx
Host: nm
My Main Website: mywebsite.com

Today I have started getting this error when I try to access the WHM:
"Invalid Hostname. (This account is currently not available.). Hostnames may not contains spaces or tabs."
The sites hosted on the server are working however when try to access the CPanel I get an error "Invalid License File".

Is this due to some license problem and incorrect host (as it is not a FQDN). Or is it something related to host file or something else. Have someone seen this issue. Please help.

You should be contacting your DC about this problem.

Website Rob - You should read the message a bit more. ;)

uniquelinks - Have you tried contacting either cPanel or the company you purchased the license through?

I just wanted to confirm that the issue is related to CPanel license and not some entry in host file etc. It has been working fine for the last few weeks. I have placed support request with company I purchased the license through. Hopefully, it would just be a license issue.

You mentioned the hostname isn't a FQDN.

In this case I would assume since cpanel grants you a license to use on one domain and this domain isn't qualified that might be your problem.

Id' get with cpanel about this and find out what you need to do. They will be able to get you pointed in the right direction.

Nah, I did read the post correctly, just shortcutted my reply. :)

As the License 'was' working for a few weeks already before this problem came up, contacting the DC is, or should be, the fastest and easiest way to solve the problem. If the DC cannot correct and DarkOrb must be contacted, the DC can usually speak with someone by phone (again faster solution); whereas us 'other' people cannot.

He didn't get his license from the Datacenter, which means most likely the datacenter is not going to help him in regards to it not working. Especially since he has his own license means it's most likely either an unmanaged or colo box.

Thanks everyone for your feedback.
The issue has been fixed by the company providing CPanel license..
Basically by mistake I had changed the hostname with the command hostname 101/udp. So it messed up a lot of things.. I should be more careful with the commandline.

Hi,

I had my server setup this morning and when I log into WHM I get the same message.

Not sure whether to bother the datacentre or not.
