View Full Version : Qustion about .DE domains
HAMLET_X 10-24-2005, 04:09 AM Hi!
I need to register some .de domains. Does this domain type have any restriction? Where can I register it?
Thanks

Try them. I have never tried but 1 of my friend have registered some domains with them and it was OK.

The admin-c must have a German address and your nameservers have to be on separate networks for .de domains.
If you do not have German Admin-C Address, you might try to use EuroDNS, they will arrange it for you.
Lubeca 10-24-2005, 11:02 AM The problem with EuroDNS is that they don't accept payment in any other form than by transfer to their bank account in Belgium - which makes them extremely expensive when you outside the Euro area.
I have recently registered a .de domain through United-Domains.de, who take credit cards and who seemed quite efficient.
dawhb 10-24-2005, 11:08 AM check united-domains.de. DE costs 12 euros there.
As far as I know, if you register .de through United Domains than you have to have German Admin-C
europeregistry.com - think twice before using them. It takes weeks for a domain to get registered. Then, you try delegate it, and the control panel is full or server errors. And.. they don't respond to support emails.

Registry restriction apply though
Lubeca 12-20-2005, 06:37 AM hi,
try "domainunion.de"
you are the Owner of Domain
and domainunion is the admin c
pay with banctransfer
The problem with paying by bank transfer is that international transfers are extortionately expensive. You can buy LOTS of domains for the cost of one international bank transfer from the UK.
I would not deal with a company that insists on international bank transfers unless I was desperate. That's why I used united-domains.de for my solitary .de domain, they accept credit cards. (Don't know if they provide admin contact addresses in Germany, though - it wasn't an issue for me as I know people in Germany)
nuthin 12-20-2005, 08:48 PM weeks! wow
took me 4 weeks to have my .hu domain through eurodns approved and registered, so weeks is nothing! :P
apparently it's just the way the '.hu' nic works, so eurodns told me.
don't bother with alot of european domains anymore, just seems to be alot of hassle with them these days.

"These days?" You obviously haven't been in this game all that long! I remember the days when you needed certification by the Dutch Chamber of Commerce before you could register a .nl, and when a .ie was virtually impossible to get. These days most ccTLDs have few restrictions

At least they replied to your email. We have an .it domain - can't delegate it - Control panel is full of errors and they just don't reply.
len fischer 02-01-2006, 01:13 AM I read there is like 5 million .de names sold
dynamiconomy 02-01-2006, 07:53 AM I read there is like 5 million .de names sold
Actually, there are more than 9 million .de names registered right now, making it the second biggest registry after .com.

Small nation?
In comparison with China - yes.
In comparison with the UK - no. Germany has a population of 82 million. The UK has a population of 60 million.
Bashar 02-02-2006, 09:02 PM well then US/CN :P
never knew germany has more population than the UK! :)
but bigger than .net wow :)
basic 02-23-2006, 12:42 AM Okay Basher, we forgive you -- one time only ::)
By the way, although not the cheapest, eNom is offering .de domains -- so, anyone having an eNom reseller account can offer .de domain registration in real-time. We do that a lot, and nameserver changes etc. also work just fine in real-time. Only problem are address changes of domain owner, soimehow that takes weeks before it gets forwarded from eNom to the German registry and then shows up in their WHOIS.
lindenbaumx 05-08-2006, 02:52 AM Hi gm22.
I have never check the company's profile carefully, and registered on europeregistry.com.
I can't log in their member's page and my domain has never registered...
Anyone else use the site?
I am uneasy whether the site is fishing one...
Anyone know more detail about the site, and Instra Corporation or DOMAIN DIRECTORS PTY LTD?

Have your domain regitered and billed correct price?

Hi,
this is quite wrong !
Your need to provide a german address, if the owner has a non-german address. The reason is,that in case of disputes the laws of germany apply. if there is no german address no offical documents can be sent out.
So if the owner (owner-c) is a german address you can have your admin-c wherever you want this. If the owner is from outside germany, you have to provide a german address.
We are DENIC Member and do it the following way:
We use your name with our address and in case of a dispute possible documents will be forwarded to you.
