to do a transfer of domain, i need the auth code from the present registrar.
is this auth code sent to the present registrar only when i do a transfer, or the present registrar already has this auth code(like a domain password or something alike?) even i don't do any thing?

I think you should have been sent an auth code by your current registar once the admin of the current domain at the current registar approved the domain transfer.

Get the auth code from your current registrar, then give it to the
new registrar when starting your transfer request.
Don't forget to ensure your domain's unlocked and admin email's
still good, of course. ;)

this would mean my current registrar would have the auth code for the domain even i haven't started any transfer yet right? :stickout:

Yup. Thats true.
EPP / Auth Codes are needed for .org / .us / .biz / .info domains and you can get it from your registrar anytime.
