Clements, who operates antifraud site CardCops.com, plans to locate as many individual IP addresses as he can. He will then inform Internet service providers that their customers are likely participating in illegal activity.


He also plans to share his data with the FBI and U.S. Secret Service.


They can't do that. If someone told me to go to a web page that had stolen credit card numbers (like how they suggested: "The Web page Clements produced included fake data that mimicked the kind often left accidentally on the Internet by e-commerce merchants. "), I would go to it just to see what kind of lack-of-security is used at that site. That doesn't mean that I would steal the credit cards and use them.

They have no proof that just because I went to the site (I didn't), I stole any credit card numbers.

What a joke!!

I dont see how you can do that to people who just go and view a page...........If someone posts a link somewhere and you click it, that is hardly a crime.......Most people would have clicked out of interest......
