Signed up 1/28 and immediatetly filed trouble ticket because of dismal bandwith (5-20k/sec) experienced by myself and all my users.
Talked to Ryan and cancelled on 2/5 because tickets weren't resolved. Asked for money back due to money back guarantee.
Got credit card bill with additional 4.95 charge they made on 3/5 and of course no credit. Called a few days later, talked to Ryan and again asked for credit for both charges and to cancel account. Ryan said that would get done within next days.
Got credit card bill with additional 4.95 charges made on 3/27 and 4/5.
This time I just called my credit card company and disputed all 4 charges. Now I'm just waiting for next month to cancel another charge.

I apologize that we didn't cancel your account, please send an email to billing with your username, password, domain and last four digits of your credit card and we'll do the refund today. You can also contact myself for more information if needed. Bandwidth issues? This is a first.

// edit //

I don't understand why you would wait around for another charge and just not take care of the problem at hand, if it were me I would of been on the phone yelling at the CEO that day about the refund.

Maybe he is referring to this?

Good catch UmBillCord, your right because of the network issues with the whole UUNet/Level3 issue this would of been related but it only lasted I think 3 or 4 days but either case let me know mephisto and we'll get your squared away.

:) I have had no problems with Gearhost at all. Ryan is great at least to me. These guys have even gone out of their way to help me with tough technical issues.

Ryan,

$4.95 is not enough that I have to call my credit card company every day to find out if the credit was posted. For such amounts I can wait for my monthly bill to arrive.

And unless you have multiple Ryan's working at GearHost in the billing department then I did talk to you on both occasions (cancellation plus the 2nd time when I noticed the extra charge).

My bandwith issues were 1/28 to 2/5, then I gave up and cancelled since the trouble tickets weren't resolved, although they were being worked on. I had problems accessing my site from multiple locations plus all my users complained about the speed.

Anyway, I've cancelled, my site is long since hosted by somebody else and my CC company credited the charges after I disputed them when you charged me twice more.

Due to the topic being closed and me not wishing to tie up space with a new one, I'd just like to say that WRT http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=42061&highlight=GearHost -- the other half of the refund has been issued by GearHost.
