So all my domains are down (for over 24 hours now), the web site that I go to for tech support is down (www.myvirtualnet.net), and I've gotten no response via email.

I'm assuming somthing catastrophic has happened somewhere, but can't reach anyone to find out.

Weird thing is that I can SSH to the server hosting my domains and log in just fine.

I don't mean to sound overly critical, because Robin has been extremely helpful and forthcoming, but my domains are now on their third server since my having signed on, and there's just been too much downtime in the 1.5 months I've been there.

Robin was kind enough to give me a month free after an extended SNAFU early on. I'm not digging for freebies; at this point it's not the money; I'd just like my domains to be accessible. When people hit what seems to be a dead domain, they're likely to not return. I'd be thrilled with 98% uptime at this point, let alone anything higher.

Sorry, just venting... I'm not a happy camper. :(

You're right Dan.... I wouldn't be happy either.

I'm at a loss of what else to tell you at this point or offer you, because like you said, it's not a money issue, it's a reliability issue.

All I can say is the past few weeks are not the norm for me compared to the previous TWO years of me being in the hosting biz. You had problems on one of my Rackshack servers with Plesk (Apache kept dying because of sites so busy, not just yours - and all attempts from Plesk to help and to add fixes for this known issue didn't help). So I move you to a server that had as of yesterday 274 days of uptime! Not a single reboot... an almost unmeasurable amount of downtime consisting literally of a few mins TOTAL in the past several months. This server I moved you to is located at Burst (burst.net) and I typically consider to be one of my higher end servers because of the realibility and uptime, so special accounts go there, which I considered yours as because of the Plesk issue.

And then how lucky can we get? a DOS attack that started yesterday evening. They claimed it was stopped soon afterwards but as you noticed problems persisted long afterwards. I can't see how a dos attack can POWER DOWN a server, or rather make it REBOOT, but they say it did and hosed a few things that had to be fixed.

So..... again, moving to a higher class facility and server, free service... there's nothing more I can say or do to help you feel better about your experience with me. And you have to do what is best for you so I understand. If you're moving elsewhere just let me know if I can do anything to assist you that will make it easier for you.
