View Full Version : LivePerson? Any good
okihost 04-17-2002, 12:41 PM I see alot of hosts with this service on there site. And I was not sure if it is a free service still or not. I looked on there website but all I can find is LivePerson PRO and when I see the words pro that usually means there is a lower package that is usually free or of low cost. Currently we use AIM for online help but alot of people are using MSN and Yahoo! and so on. I tried to use that Trillian program but had no sucess to I am thinking this might be a good solution. Could someone give me some feedback on this product. I know bravenet has one for free but I would rather pay $20.00 or so a month for it that wade through there daily spam emails.
netsolutions 04-17-2002, 01:31 PM To get the good one it's about $100 a month. If you just want to answer customers and not worry about the special features then you can still get humanclick which is still free.
smacx 04-17-2002, 03:34 PM Humanclick is free?
It doesn't apear so from the site,
where can I find this?

bitserve 04-17-2002, 05:22 PM In my experience, the $80/month that we pay for our one sales person to offer live sales chat does not pay for itself.
However, it's an acceptable loss.
It would be nice if it was half the price.
ceotiben 04-23-2002, 01:22 PM Try http://www.powertalk.com
They have a free special now.
Also, the software they using is PHP Live at
http://www.phplivesupport.com/
Bravenet have too many advertisements, and not
as good. But it's free.

Totally agree - I am actually surprised how little people click to chat. Thankfully we just came across the phplivesupport and are going to start using this.
BMurtagh 04-23-2002, 08:51 PM i think there was a free one i remember seeing, i think the address is www.clickchat.com, not positive, i'll find it again and post it.
BMurtagh 04-23-2002, 08:53 PM clickchatsold.com is the site, sorry for messing up before :)
GnomeyNewt 04-24-2002, 11:32 AM I have been using Bravenets Humanclick for a while now. I agree with an earlier post, that not that many people click on it. The advertisements are only in the admin's window and the emails that come every 1-2 days can be easily blocked. Also, spamassians... seems to weed it out for me....
Unless you have a lot of customers that need support all the time, than you should give them a try. Can't hurt to try 'em out.
StarGate 04-24-2002, 09:48 PM ...works PERFECT btw... I use it.

groopz is very cool and very reasonable (something like $80.00/month). This pays for itself. Not only can customers contact you but you can contact customers as soon as they hit your site. It does everything and anything.
Check out: www.groopz.com
successful 04-25-2002, 04:23 PM You should try Php Live Support (http://phplivesupport.com) . It's about $99 and you don't have to pay any monthly fees.
GnomeyNewt 04-25-2002, 04:53 PM With the PHP Live Support, do you have to have a web browser window open at all times?
If so, I think that is one reason I dont think I want to go with that. I always tend to have a lot of windows open and have to close them alot also. I would always be considered "not avilable".
Maybe i would get used to it.
successful 04-25-2002, 04:55 PM Yup.....you're willing to pay $1,200 a year to get rid of a browser window ? Man you must be rolling in $$$ :D

I dont pay $1,200 a year to get rid of the browser window...
I use Humanclick from Bravenet... I'm cheap!
Plus ICQ and AIM. Those are free too.
fernandodl 04-25-2002, 08:10 PM clickchatsold.com is a good free one. I recommend it.
GnomeyNewt 04-25-2002, 08:21 PM They need to redesign the website. I didnt realize the dots in the middle were the navigation.
I kept thinking there had to be more to the website.
:)
about2flip 04-26-2002, 03:39 AM hi:
You should look into LIVEHELPER, which is located @ Livehelper.com. Very reasonable per month, I believe $25.00.
skylab 05-12-2002, 08:44 AM sorry to bring up an old post, but, my buddy starhost is going the right direction.
1. get trillian. register names on the 4 major services (and start an IRC chat room if you want. www.starchat.net ).
TRILLIAN
>> www.trillian.cc
2. put your online status in your tech/contact area.
let your customers contact you at all, using the 4 most popular of the IM clients. AND IRC if you want to setup your own IRC support channel.
netacore 05-12-2002, 05:21 PM We use clickchatsold.com however some clients report incompatibility with some browsers.
Also the features are very limited compared to liveperson (because it's free), we'll probably be switching over to them
skylab Thats a great Link !
k6cheung 05-15-2002, 05:46 AM We will try our best to implement all the features most users want.
We have a new website and a new version now.
Any comment and suggestion are welcome!
http://www.clickchatsold.com
k6cheung 05-15-2002, 05:51 AM Oops. Almost forget the most important point...
We will soon to open source the CGI part of CCS. That means completely customization (ie, your own layout) is possible.
(Online/Offline Buttons are customizable now)
Stay tune.
