Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but due to recent hosting volume, I've been prompted to hire additional support staff to ensure that our customer service response time remains excellent. I've been considering hiring staff for live online help and ticket based support.

My question is, what is the industry standard, if any, for webhosting support pay scale?

I currently work with a few friends and as such, they're not really a good basis for what the industry standards are.

Any advice would be appreciated :)

I'd say $24-$30,000/year depending on experience for UNIX support. In my area, I think that's what it was last I looked.

You might check out the salary info at monster.com (http://salary.monster.com)

But of course, as the one paying the salary, you'll no doubt try to pay as little as possible.

Pay also varies if it is done remotely -vs- if they have to come to your business and work. Remote work is generally paid a bit less, because they have the luxury of being able to work in their pajamas. :D
