The email was sent to all of the email addresses listed at our web site. The guy has been to our site a few times - I saw him there before the email was sent and could see from our Live Person history that he has been there before (although never asked to chat).

Have others received this email or similar emails???

I really don't know what to say... it may be some scam, but on the other hand it may not.

I guess my best advice to you would be not to give out bank acc. details before you investigate the issue further.

Hi Shone,

Thanks for the follow-up. Don't worry - I have no intention of acting on this email. I was just curious if others get them and if they too immediatley think 'scam!'.

Sometimes you wonder if you get too cynical becuase you spend nearly every day dealing with credit card fraud or attempted scams from the Middle East and Asia.

nmihosting,

I think it's very irresponsible of you to publish a private email with a person's details on a public forum like that.

It may or may not be legitimate but you should respect their privacy nevertheless.

If the person is from Saudi Arabia, why are they talking about Karachi when talking about payment? Kind of like me saying "I'm from New York and I'm not sure how to pay you as the folks in Hong Kong aren't reliable."
