View Full Version : Outsourcing 24 hour web hosting support through live chat & email
tony.messer 04-16-2002, 02:55 PM I hope i am posting this message in the correct location.
I have been told to post the thread here.
We are a company offering 24x7 1st line support to hosting companies through live help chat & email.
We have just started offering the service because we have been in the position as a hosting company where we wanted a low cost solution for offering 24 hour support.
Please get back to us with some feedback.
Walter 04-16-2002, 03:16 PM URL?
TheException 04-16-2002, 03:20 PM You will need to post more information to get very good responses here... There are a couple services out there.. but they do have their flaws... for example neither of them has an affordable solution for a small time reseller... .they all require about $100+ to get started, and its a monthly fee to top it off...
You should post your URL if you have one up, or if not, post all the details about your service...
tony.messer 04-16-2002, 03:21 PM Sorry about that, forgot to enter the web address, our website is http://www.24x7livesupport.co.uk, please get back to us with some feedback on our services
tony.messer 04-16-2002, 03:23 PM We are also considering offering per incident services.
We offer support through live help chat & email

Andyc 04-16-2002, 03:29 PM I think I will stick with bobcares.com. They are established, proven, and have better pricing.
tony.messer 04-16-2002, 03:32 PM What we are trying to offer is a human side to support which is interactive and beneficial to the user.

VERY GOOD POINT....
Do business properly, or don't do it at all...
If you would like to take this opertunity to try to clear your name, go ahead... but I think you have already done the damage to yourself... I will not be recommending you to anyone I don't think...
Edit: note to tony.messer.. try looking at the bottom right corner of your post, you are not allowed to double post like you did above.. if you miss something in one post, you do this... Bumping will get your thread locked.
tony.messer 04-16-2002, 04:02 PM we have recently started offering this service & would just like to get some feedback.
What sort of prices you would find accptable bearing in mind that being able to be there for your customers round the clock would be a powerful marketting tool for your business
tony.messer try to answer some of the questions posted in this thread, instead of asking for feedback for free :(
fishface 04-16-2002, 04:32 PM I will give you some feedback :
All you seem to have done today is get up peoples backs. Add to this the fact that our company has been spammed today with one of your unsolicited email offers. Clearly you have our address from newsgroups as the address you sent to was only ever used in uk.internet providers.

tony.messer 04-16-2002, 04:44 PM Dear fishface,
Sorry to have caused offence - none intended
I can assure you that we are serious about our offering.
I know that the thing customers want most is the ability to communicate with a human being when they are experiencing problems.
Many new web hosting customers will be small businesses etc... & they get intimidated by technology & we believe that it is better to interact with them and help them rather than adopting a technology heavy approach.
Email support has its limitations & we want to help to ensure that our customers offer their customers a live and interactive support experience.
We believe that our customers will enjoy the ability to offer a round the clock support facility that their customers will in turn love!

ILLEGAL and unethical methods in busines do not get you ahead, they get you shut down. Stop sending people spam, don't borrow designs, if it is a development project, don't place it on the internet...
Edit: I apologize for the tone of this post before this edit, I got carried away, it just really annoys me when businesses plagerize (even if it weren't meant that way) and SPAM people...
tony.messer 04-16-2002, 09:18 PM We do not consider ourselves spammers, we have done a search on google on uk web hosting companies & gone to the contact page, sent an email proposal to the contact email address.
The content of the message was clearly stated on the header as Web Hosting Support - 24x7 Outsourcing Proposal from our email account & showing our website address.

Chicken 04-16-2002, 09:33 PM Ok, I think they paid the price of the misdeeds, if you have any comments related to the original post, please feel free to post them. Otherwise, just don't offer your advice.
On topic posts from now on please (OT will be removed)...
TheException 04-16-2002, 10:19 PM Sorry about that... I guess your right Chicken...
Do you guys have plans for phone support as well?
tony.messer 04-16-2002, 10:23 PM For the moment just support through live chat.

I thought you offered email as well?
I would also suggest offering to use the host's ticket system, presuming they have one...
tony.messer 04-16-2002, 10:41 PM Yes, web based support services, live chat , email, helpdesk tools etc...
24 hours a day!
TheException 04-17-2002, 01:30 AM Useless post...
I can't delete it...
Sorry again Tony.messer...
tony.messer 04-17-2002, 06:08 AM Dear TheException,
You cannot go round accusing people without knowing what you are talking about.
You should do a bit of research first.
That image was bought through gettyimages.com
Do you need the receipt to verify this?
You don't think she works for that other company do you?

Hello, I know we are off-topic and Chicken will kill us all for that, but I must agree.
TheException, they 'borrowed' Mchost's design, that's one thing. But now don't go assuming automatically that they stole every single bit that you see on their site.
Buying stock photos is such common practice that I would expect you to realize that.
Not to defend their past-present-or future alleged misdeeds, but I think you may have jumped on this one a bit too fast.
Best of luck to all parties :D
Chicken 04-17-2002, 08:51 PM Well, it seems to have been cleared up quickly, but as was said, please don't assume that an image isn't legal, unless it is obvious (another company's logo for example, heh). Please carry on with the thread...
TheException 04-18-2002, 11:14 AM Now I am confused...
I edited that post right after I posted it... because I did jump to fast on that, but I realized it almost as fast...
Many apologies.
Edit: I think I need to restart my computer one of these days... Windows boxes can't handle uptimes of weeks like linux boxes...
I wonder when the last time I restarted or shut down was...
