In regards to a domain reseller account - I've seen on other sites that they simply have a form a customer can fill out to see if a domain is available, and when they click 'continue', they are taken to a third party site (i.e. GoDaddy), but with a referral ID in the address bar.

Is this a reseller account, or are they simply partnered with GoDaddy and paid a commission from GoDaddy for every new customer that signs up?

Before I consider spending an annual fee on a domain reseller account, I'd like to know if there is an option to simply refer a customer to another site and then get a commission when they sign up.

Is this possible? If so, which sites would you recommend?

Sounds like you are looking for more of an affiliate program than a reseller solution. It is probably best you go with a reseller solution like directi, enom. If you still are interested in an affiliate program I think dotster has one
