search the forum there is atleast 1 thread matching the same subject this week only :)

their target isn't end users its resellers while regfly/godaddy etc.. target are end users

register.com/netsol.com charges ~$35 and their market is also end users heh

it all depends on the biz module that XYZ company is following

you can use your domain name as your email if you have hosting

the $8.99 is if you want them to host your email if you dont have your own hosting

Domain name registration and domain name hosting are two entirely separate things.

When you register a domain you buy (a) the right to use it and (b) the service of having it delegated to DNS servers of your choice. That's all.

In order to make your domain come alive (and usable for a web site, email etc) you need to have it hosted.

IT SO HAPPENS that there are now quite a few companies out there that offer combined packages - as in "Register a domain with us and we give you a free web site and/or free email" or "Buy a hosting package with us and we'll throw in a free domain". But that's just like booking a package holiday as opposed to booking a flight and hotel separately. The fact that some companies offer package holidays doesn't mean that all flights have to come with free accommodation or that all hotel bookings have to come with free flights. The fact that some companies offer "domain name and hosting" packages doesn't mean that all domains have to come with free hosting or that all hosting packages have to come with free domains or that hosting company has to register domains or that registering company has to offer hosting.
