Anyway of turning off the auto renew function with UKReg?

what do you mean not a very helpful answer? It's FACT! It answers the question perfectly. if you don't want to have auto renewed domains don't use UKReg.

Wouldn't it have made a lot more sense for the OP to have contacted UKreg and asked them how to turn off auto-renew? They're not the greatest company in the world but they do have a functioning customer service desk.

Personally I'd rather have auto-renew enabled and tell my registrar/reseller if I don't want to renew a domain. I'd much rather pay the odd five pounds for a domain I don't want than lose something I do want.

The problem is.. I've just had an arguement over autorenews with UK Reg. They have renewed domain names that I have asked to cancel. They tell me it's because I cancelled to late.. 2 months before renewal is the first time they ask you to renew and that's when I cancelled. So it doesn't seem to matter one way or the other.. switch it off or leave it on.. it seems to do the same thing anyway. lol

Do you have proof that you cancelled? If you do then I don't think they've got a leg to stand on.

Yeah I have plenty of proof, but is it worth the hassle for a few pounds? The thing that makes it worse is that the woman I spoke to offered to refund me, then said she couldn't promise it'd not happen again. So I told her I'd move my domains elsewhere because I couldn't afford to have domains renewed which could use money in my account I need for something else.. she had the cheek to say 'well in that case I'm not refunding you then.
