We use Plesk on several servers now and like the ease of use for the user on adding email accounts, DB's and password protection. They only problem is the cost!! I liker webmin and don't mind using it for setting up customers but is there a way or a place to get add-ons so the customer can have the same features as plesk such as setting up DB's, email addresses and checking webmail?

I have looked and nothing has really jumped out at me.

Have you looked at Usermin? It's the end-user version of webmin. The latest versions of both were released yesterday: Webmin & Usermin (http://www.webmin.com)

Usermin allows:
-shell access
-cronjobs
-email
and a few more things.
Of course you can switch on and offf the features you aren't interested in.
