View Full Version : McDonalds
clocker1996 04-15-2002, 08:59 PM if i wasnt such a nice guy, i would so take advantage of new mcdonalds employee's....
For instance, today I ordered my food, and the girl (u could tell she was new)
just gave me my food, didnt even ask for $$$! lol..
but then i pulled out my twenty
I just can't do it!!
lol
:stickout
Akash 04-15-2002, 09:08 PM I think if you take the total value of the incorrect orders that you get and the total value of the free orders you get (when they give you extra or don't ask for $$$) it's equal.....
so if you didn't pay today(which was 29/39 cent day btw) you would've "paid" some other day
BrianF 04-15-2002, 09:30 PM I never do that just because I wonder if at the end of the day they do a check of how much money should be in the register, that the missing balance comes out of the employee's pocket!

i dont eat mcdonalds, they are nasty, and they changed the size of te big extra to a normal hamburger

tahts not just an urban legend?
BrianF 04-15-2002, 11:31 PM I'm pretty sure it is....
akashik 04-16-2002, 05:17 AM actually I've seen the photo of it. Chicken used to use it as his avatar back when we were allowed to have them. The head was real, but whether the 'owner' actually found it in their food, or faked it for some cash is open to question.
I'm more of a Burger King - Jack in The Box person myself. McDonalds used to be pretty good 20 years ago, but they've slid pretty badly over the past decade - the paper wrapping has more flavor than the burgers now.

yeah jack in the box, dairy queen, arbys and the all famous Dicks, if you dont have a dicks in your area shame, (they are in WA here) they have some of the best frys and burgers
phpjames 04-16-2002, 05:52 AM One time when I was like 7 my mom handed the McDonalds lady a 20 and she handed us the food and then 20 dollar bill back and my mom hit the gas! ;-)

I'd have to agree with you there. Only had it once while in Spokane WA, but that was a mightly fine burger and fries. Rumor has it Bill Gates still eats at the one up near Seattle. If you had more money than anyone else on the planet and chose Dicks to get a burger, I'd like to think that said something about the quality of their food. :) Err... or Bill Gates choice of taste.
Anby's is good too. I thought I'd hate a burger that was nothing but piles of meat in a bun, but the taste was suprisingly good!

No they actually showed it on tv.. It was all battered and everything but it was a chicken head.. Now that is something I dont think I could forgive them for.. All the McFlurrys and BigMacs in the world will never get that image out of my head..
BrianF 04-16-2002, 11:00 AM Oh well, I haven't seen it! McDonalds still tastes good to me!

EStarr 04-16-2002, 12:45 PM I used to work at McDonalds. If your register is short you either get fired or have to pay it. Depending on how much. One time I was $30 short but they couldn't do anything because I wasn't the only one using my register. Course, I was also beinging home $400/week after taxes in my paycheck so I think I was probably a good worker.
AH-Tina 04-16-2002, 03:03 PM Has anyone had the new Burger King veggie burger? Blechhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! Those things are nasty!!!!

Studio64 04-16-2002, 05:19 PM 1 word... WENDY's!!
I remember the day Dave Thomas died...
I was in Wendy's waiting to get ketchup for my fry's when the TV in the resturant announced that Dave Thomas had died.... I felt really awkward... I was waiting for the manager to make a speech or something but, they all just kept working...
I had a personal 20 minute moment of silence (aside from chewing) while I ate my food...
bitserve 04-17-2002, 06:21 PM I refuse to eat at mcdonald's because they sued sarah michelle gellar (a little girl at the time) for what she said in a burger king commercial.
Or is that an urban legend too?
Anyway, dave thomas is dead?

"I was waiting for the manager to make a speech or something but, they all just kept working... "

Just that quote.

Come out of your cave man!!!
btw, i'm in windsor ;)
bitserve 04-17-2002, 10:28 PM Sorry, I don't have cable. :)
Only, I wonder if he died before I canceled cable?
Yes, I'm clueless when it comes to news anymore.
Here's another urban legend for you. Well, unverified rumor. Rumint, is what we called in the Army.
Dave thomas sold wendy's to warren avis (of avis travel) many many years ago, and he didn't even really own part of the company any more. He was hired a few years back to act as their figure head, though. I don't know if he needed the job. You'd think that he had lots of money from when he sold it.
Anyway, the story goes that warren avis bought it from dave for his daughter wendy for her birthday. So in theory, wendy avis runs wendy's?
It's similar to the kentucky fried chicken story and the colonel, kernal, kernel, how ever they speeled it. Is that one urban legend?
Mester 04-17-2002, 11:13 PM Well I work at TimHorton's (a Canadian fast food kind of chain, affiliated with Wendy's - the fastest expanding fast food chain on the continent btw lol) part time as a student, which I am. I just wanted to say that no, missing money isnt deducted from our pay, and also that most preopl seem to be pretty honest. One of my first days working there some one gave me a $5 and I for some reason thought it was a $20 and hit the $20 button, then gave her ~$15 change. Luckily she rejected it but that goes to show how someone could've taken advantage :D
coolguy23 04-18-2002, 10:18 PM i feel bad for doing this but this happened to me a couple of days ago, wait it happened on last friday, well i went to the atm to get 20 bucks and since i wanted myself to stop from spending all of it i said to myself that i would put back 10$ in the bank so i went to get the change and i came to a lottery booth, i asked the lady for a 10 and 2 5's and she hand's me a 20 and 2 5's and i just jet lol
well that was 10 extra bucks for me :D
