For those interested

The registry for the .eu Internet top-level domain will accept reservations for second-level domain names from Dec. 7. The domain is intended to identify activities or information related to the European Union, and give companies based there the opportunity to use a pan-European Internet identity to complement their individual national sites.

During the four-month sunrise period, Eurid vzw will accept name reservations on a first-come, first-served basis from companies and organizations based in the E.U., and from persons living there.

In the first phase, lasting two months, only the names of public bodies and the territories they govern, or registered trademarks, may be reserved. From Feb. 7, other names can be reserved, including company names and business identifiers, unregistered trademarks, and distinctive titles of protected literary and artistic work.

From April 7, registration is open to all. Details of the procedures and rules, and the names of approved registrars, can be found at http://www.eurid.eu/.

I do not think .eu is going to become very popular for a short term period. However the domain extension is good enough.

Have a goood one

I agree, even though there are many new extensions being launched very few have mass market appeal. I think this one will do well

I pre registerd over 60 .eu domain names in 2002, kost me a fortune (I was a student then, so around $1000 was a fortune), now I am still have to wait :(

Pre registration after pre-registration.... if first-in-first-win is really going to happen, and it is fair, then I might just get a high return on investment...

I did not think pre-regs for .eu were valid that soon. Are you sure it was legit?

i doublt how old you pre-registered would help getting the names, its going to be opened to all and the faster register's a domain (registrars) will get them
