Hi All . . . :)

I'm in the search for a new host, and wondered if anyone had any opinions/advice/wisdom/feedback on the following:

Pow Web www.powweb.com

Blue Domino www.bluedomino.com :erm:

Tera-Byte www.tera-byte.com

Successful Hosting www.successfulhosting.com

F5 Hosting www.f5hosting.com

Superb Internet www.superb.net

Omnistar Hosting www.omnistarhosting.net

Whiz Host www.*************

Thanks in advance for any form of feedback, it's appreciated.

Try using the search feature here in the forum.
I think you will find feedback on most of those mentioned.
Good Luck :)

You know... a long long time ago, whizhost canceled my account after 1 month of service for no particular reason. I think it might be because I asked too many questions.

They also didn't seem very knowledgable when I asked them some simple questions concerning the structure of PLESK.

I really depends on what you're looking for. What kind of a site are you wanting to have? Are you going to resell, by account or bulk? etc...
Like Martie said, your best bet is to do a search in WHT. You can get all the info you need, both good and bad.

I wouldn't trust BlueDomino and it's "Unlimited bandwidth"

Go for tera-byte, or F5 :) and you'll find ex-aletia users there. If you really want a great host for your dollar, i recommend hostway.com all the way :)

or even

I would suggest (and this is just my opinion) going with www-hosting.net over most of those.
I've known people using many of those hosts, and they have all had many complaints.
of course I've had complaints about www-hosting.net before, but they seem to have worked through all of their problems. They offer great packages, and they've got quite a support team too.
When I had a problem that support didn't take care of quickly, I got a phone call from the CEO to take care of it.

I would recommend VenturesOnline.net (http://venturesonline.net). So far they have been reliable and their support is second to none!

Uh, no. I'm just a mod there. I don't work there. And I don't come here just to support Aletia either. It's about helping people ....

VenturesOnline sounds good. I've read a lot of good stuff about them here and there, no bad stuff yet.

Just stay away from your "unlimited bandwidth" hosts and your newbie hosts and you should be fine. :)

Hmmm... Mayhaps http://www.hostforweb.com

$20/mo -- 500mb space -- 20,000 bandwidth --Unlim. SubDomains, FTP Accounts, POP3, Forwards, Autoresponders, Aliases, MySQL Databases, Mailing Lists

I've used them for a few months now and I have yet to have my website lag or down. Good support and OL manual too :> Personally, I'm still shopping around (always looking for the better deal) but I'm always drawn back to HostForWeb.com

Guys/gals,

This post was originally from April 2002, almost a year ago. I would think the original poster has found what they were looking for. I would say start a new thread if you want to discuss/get more info. ;)

Until you try them it's hard to tell, beside it also depends on what your criterias are.
