WS_FTP is free and works great for me. For the server side, Pro_FTP is good. 'course the best one is the one I wrote in Perl ;) RyanK 04-15-2002, 06:02 AM Windows, as I'm sure you know has built-in FTP functionality, I would STRONGLY suggest working with it even though it's a pain, and a BIG one at that. The main problem is harnesing it's power, took us over a month just to get the base module programmed and another 6 to rule it over, in the end it's the most reliable, configurable FTP software out there. If you need any pointers on how to get any specifics done let me know, I'd be happy to help. mattan 04-15-2002, 02:37 PM when it comes to FTP services. If you need more, try going with another package like Serv-U or maybe even Voyager (did I get that right?) interactive6 04-15-2002, 06:21 PM I'm using Serv-u right now, but if i restart the server, it doesn't run as a service, so i have to log in before ftp users can access there site, but i keep forgetting to press alt-ctrl-del to login. Can i make it run as a service? .john El Nino 04-15-2002, 07:41 PM I've got Serv-U 3.0 running as a service. I forget if there was an option when I installed it or not to have it run as a service, but if you want to do it manually, have it run ServUDaemon.exe which should be in the Serv-U directory. |
